Dorset Capri Club Annual Christmas Ski Bobbing

December 7th 2008, Sunday at 7pm we got together at Snowtrax on Matchams Lane.

Attending was Colin & Annie, Callum, Dan, Lee, Jason, Michael, Leanne and Myself.

It is tradional that Colin is the one who gets hurt and is responable for trying to take others out on the slopes, but this year Leanne managed to get in there first. on the very first run, with temperatures below freezing, it was like watching a slow motion movie, as Leanne went down the slope, she hit the ice you could see her turn the steering, but nothing happened and she ploughed straight into the barrier, coming off landing face first. Even with a helmet on she managed to graze her face in three places and after being checked out, she had light concusion. Colinon the other hand did manage to fall off three time during our half an hour and one of these times was coming back up the hill.

As usual we had a good laugh in the freezing cold, and will be there again next year.

Evesham County Bumpkin Show

August Bank Holiday 2008

With only Michael and me setting of to the show, we had a quite but good run to the show ground.
We set off after work on Friday, so by the time we had arrived and set up our tent, it was 8.30pm, so we went off to Evesham’s town centre to find tea, which we found in a very nice Chinese’s restaurant. By the time we got back and had a laugh with other club’s members it was 1am. Saturday was dry and very warm. Milton Keynes set up camp next to us that morning. And Michael and I decided to have a go at the club challenges. Even with just two of us we managed to win the Wellington wanging, stilt racing and the raw egg catching, with a few good missed. God I wish they had showers.
I was in a question tie brake with Potteries over parts I.D. which I won. And that evening I won the ladies spud lift and Michael came third.
The evening’s entertainment of the striptease and balloon dance with Worm dress as a bloke, (she was better hang than the rest, and it must have been cold). And after that, one of the Coastal Capri Club was celebrating his 30th birthday and his girl friend had arranged a proper female striptease. This was very good. Following that we watch the best firework display, not only did the set off so many that it looked that Evesham was trying to set the entire tent on fire, which they did not. But they also set off the new 6lb mortars they had made, and we where deaf for at least a minute. It was great.
After that Michael went and had a laugh with Milton Keynes and I stayed and danced the night away to every cheesy song ever written. On the Sunday Fee and her mother turned up, and we had a good laugh, I did not enter my Capri in to anything, and we had to go walk about and do the judging on best MK I II III.
At prize giving we sat and watched Milton Keynes wipe the board. Fee came second in Best Mk I. then it came to the Branch Challenge. We had tired again with Potteries and I got another tie brake Question. I did not know the answer, so lost. A very good show and will be there next year. Hopefully with more members. Jane
